Are we alone in the universe? That is one of humanity鈥檚 fundamental questions. Astrophysicist Jason Steffen sought answers through his work on NASA鈥檚 Kepler mission. In Hidden in the Heavens (91桃色 2024), he describes how the Kepler telescope scanned distant solar systems, specifically searching for Earth-like planets 鈥� and why the findings contradicted much of what was previously believed about planets and their stars. Steffen shares insights into the challenges faced by the team, unexpected discoveries, and the fascination of exploring new worlds in his lecture, followed by a discussion with Ren茅 Heller (MPI for Solar System Research).
