The World According to Physics shortlisted for the Royal Society Book Prize

We鈥檙e thrilled to learn that Jim Al-Khalili鈥檚 The World According to Physics has been shortlisted for the 2020 Royal Society Book Prize, sponsored by Insight Investment. The six titles on the shortlist were selected from more than 170 submissions and represent popular science writing from around the world. Chair of this year鈥檚 judging panel, Professor Anne Osbourn FRS, Group Leader at the John Innes Centre and Director of the Norwich Research Park Industrial Biotechnology Alliance, noted that: 鈥淭his year鈥檚 shortlisted books represent carefully crafted explorations of the worlds both around and within us 鈥 [they] make science intriguing, accessible and exciting.鈥 The other shortlisted titles include: Dr. Camilla Pang鈥檚 Explaining Humans, Bill Bryson鈥檚 The Body, Susannah Cahalan鈥檚 The Great Pretender, Gaia Vince鈥檚 Transcendence, and Linda Scott鈥檚 The Double X Economy. The winner of the Royal Society Book Prize will be announced Tuesday, November 3. A full announcement can be found .
