Speaker Profile
Maria LaMonaca Wisdom is Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement at Duke University. Formerly a professor of literature and a graduate student adviser, she now holds a faculty appointment in the Program in Education at Duke and is a professional certified coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation. Wisdom offers semester-long group coaching programs for both early and midcareer faculty from all disciplines and all schools, and she provides 1:1 coaching to emerging and established academic leaders. She also leads efforts in building interdisciplinary faculty communities of practice and evidence-based curricular infrastructure to support robust cultures of mentoring.
Wisdom writes on mentorship, coaching, and faculty professional development for The Chronicle of Higher Education and runs workshops on all of these topics for both academic and non-academic audiences.
